Rum Reef is committed to making RumReef.co, our Shopify apps, and our other digital products and services accessible to as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technologies.

Scope of This Statement

This general accessibility statement applies to RumReef.co and to Rum Reef apps, products, services, and digital content that do not have their own accessibility statement or documentation.

Some of our apps, products, or services may have accessibility information specific to their features, intended use, or technical environment. We encourage users to review any accessibility statement or documentation provided for the individual app, product, or service.

Product-specific accessibility information supplements this general statement and may identify features, limitations, dependencies, or accessibility considerations that are unique to that product or service.

Our Accessibility Goal

Our goal is to design, develop, and maintain our website, apps, and other digital products using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.2 Level AA, as our accessibility benchmark where applicable.

We do not currently claim that every page, feature, app, product, or service fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA unless a product-specific accessibility statement expressly says otherwise.

Our Approach

We consider accessibility during the design, development, maintenance, and improvement of the digital experiences we control.

Our efforts include working to support:

  • Keyboard navigation and visible keyboard focus
  • Clear headings, page structure, labels, instructions, and error messages
  • Readable text and sufficient color contrast
  • Browser text resizing and zoom
  • Meaningful text alternatives for relevant non-text content
  • Interfaces that do not rely only on color to communicate information
  • Compatibility with commonly used browsers, devices, and assistive technologies
  • Clear and consistent navigation and controls

Accessibility is an ongoing process. Our website, apps, and services may change over time, and we continue to evaluate and improve accessibility as our products and technology develop.

Third-Party Platforms and Content

RumReef.co is operated using Shopify, and our Shopify apps operate within or interact with Shopify and other technologies.

The accessibility of a complete experience may be affected by elements outside our direct control, including:

  • Shopify and its administrative interfaces
  • Themes and theme customizations
  • Content provided by merchants or other users
  • Third-party apps, services, integrations, and embedded content
  • Web browsers, devices, operating systems, and assistive technologies

We cannot guarantee the accessibility of technology, content, or services that we do not own or control. However, users are encouraged to report accessibility problems even when the source of the issue is uncertain so that we can review the matter and assist where possible.

Customer and Third-Party Modifications

Changes made by a customer or third party to our code, styling, settings, content, configuration, integrations, output, or intended implementation may affect accessibility.

We cannot guarantee that an implementation that has been changed from the version or configuration we provide will retain the same accessibility characteristics.

This does not prevent users from reporting an accessibility issue involving a modified implementation. We will review the information provided and help determine whether the issue relates to our product, a modification, or another part of the technical environment where reasonably possible.

Current Limitations

Some content or functionality may not yet fully meet our accessibility goals. We have not made a formal claim of full WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance for RumReef.co or for all Rum Reef apps, products, and services.

When we identify an accessibility issue in an area we control, we will evaluate the issue and make reasonable efforts to provide an appropriate correction, improvement, or alternative method of access.

Product-specific accessibility statements or documentation may identify additional known limitations that apply to a particular app, product, or service.

Feedback and Assistance

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of RumReef.co and our apps, products, and services.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, need assistance using one of our products, or need information provided through an alternative method, please contact us through the Contact Rum Reef Support page.

For issues involving a specific app, you may also use the support method provided within the app or through its Shopify App Store listing.

When possible, please include:

  • The page, app, product, or feature involved
  • A description of the problem
  • The task you were trying to complete
  • The browser and device you were using
  • Any assistive technology involved

We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within five business days.

Where reasonably possible, we will work to provide assistance, an alternative method of access, or a correction to an accessibility issue within an area we control.

Statement Maintenance

We will review and update this statement as our website, apps, products, services, and accessibility practices change.
